ABOUT. WAYS12

My name is Valeriya Vyatchina, and I am a conceptual photographer drawn to the unique essence of the human body. My creativity originates from my questions, feelings, and endless reflection. Through my work, I seek to reveal the beauty in individuality—the way each person’s characteristics are expressed through the lines and shapes of their body. In a world that often sets demands and expectations, I believe it is essential to remember that true beauty lies in our differences.

For me, the body is the foundation of our presence in the world. It carries our unique personal experiences, shaped not only by our inner selves but also by the social influences surrounding us. Existing at the intersection of the private and the public, each body tells a story — both mental and physical — engraved into its surface. It is a tangible, ever-changing universe shaped by impressions, actions, and interactions with the external environment and its own physiology. Scars, stretch marks, birthmarks, wrinkles—the individuality of lines merging together — serve as an endless source of inspiration and contemplation. They allow us to trace the unique journey of each body, a testament to its history and resilience. After all, the body always has something to say…
