SHELL

“Defence mechanisms” “Shell”

Is it a personality trait or a forced measure? Sometimes it is a means of survival. In a world where each of us carries many facets within us, the concept of “Life in the Shell” becomes a vivid symbol of our inner struggles and need for protection.Human nature is a complex labyrinth of contradictions, where the “shell” or “armor” we build is an unconscious strategy of the brain, shielding the fragile core of our soul. This duality is not only a means of protection but also a reflection of our inner complexity, which can also lead to internal conflict and limit our ability to be open and honest with others. At times, it may even distort reality, causing fragmentation of the self,  where different aspects of our personality begin to function independently of each other. When we rely too heavily on this mechanism, we risk losing touch with our essence and our true nature. By accepting this complexity and understanding our motives, as well as the circumstances that led to the formation of the “shell”, can help us to move beyond its confines. We can learn to integrate all aspects of our personality, opening up new horizons. This journey toward wholeness becomes not only a crucial step toward self-discovery but also the key to a more fulfilling life, where we learn to embrace both our strength and our vulnerability. Fragility and strength become two sides of the same coin. Those who have weathered the storm uncover abilities they never suspected they possessed. Their inner diptychs are two distinct worlds coexisting in harmony. Many find inspiration in their trauma that propels them toward creativity and self-improvement. Like a shell that transforms a grain of sand into a pearl, they turn their experiences into something beautiful and valuable.
